Leonardes had earlier played a role in the murder of Porus. Leonardes approached Chandragupta and asked him how the lion had left him. Chandragupta replied that the lion had seen fearlessness in his eyes. Leonardes mockingly asked him if he was scares of the Greeks. To this Chandragupta said “ As an Indian I am not scared of anyone, invaders like yourself will soon be kicked out.” He then described in great detail about how Indian culture is superior to that of the Greeks. The Greek army fled fearing that the boy may have backups. It was then that Chandragupta took an oath to kick out the Greeks from India. The stories about his love with Helen are all fake.
